My Military Health: Improving the Patient Experience
The Defense Health Agency is changing how you access care and how we deliver it, making care more focused on you as a person. You’ll soon have faster, easier, and more convenient access from your phone, tablet, or laptop to online tools and services to help meet your health care needs.
The Defense Health Agency selected Wright-Patterson Medical Center from among 45 military hospitals, setting it apart as one of the first five sites to launch My Military Health. My Military Health is a new suite of online tools and technologies to help you to engage in your health. You’ll have access to a range of digital care solutions, including:
- Self-paced, private online health programs to help support your overall well-being and mental health.
- Digital companions, so you can stay connected to your health care team between visits.
- Ability to schedule virtual appointments, get appointment reminders, and access virtual waiting rooms.
- Ability to search online for network primary and specialty care providers.
With My Military Health, we’ll meet you where you are – at home, at work or in your community.
How it Works
This is a phased roll-out so not all features will be available on day one. The first phase, launched in the spring of 2024, was a self-help wellness platform called SilverCloud. With a variety of programs to help you feel better, faster, SilverCloud includes programs that deal with resilience, mindfulness, relaxation, money worries, communications and relationships, grief and loss, sleep difficulties and more.
In late August, 2024, we moved into phase two: Scheduled Virtual Visits. These are video medical appointments that give patients the flexibility to meet with their health care provider from a location that’s convenient and comfortable for them.
Phase three includes Care Companion which launched in Oct 2024. This automated care program leverages proprietary patient profiling, predictive decision making and an extensive library of evidence-based digital pathways, to help military hospitals and clinics effectively and efficiently assess risk and remotely manage patients across the care continuum at scale. Automated care programs deliver better health outcomes, and a greater patient experience.
SilverCloud
SilverCloud is an online self-help wellness platform that gives patients the tools they need when they need them. Each on-demand program offers automated, private, and judgment-free cognitive behavior therapy and coaching support right from a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Scheduled Virtual Visits
This new video visit platform is safe, secure, and easy to use, making it the perfect option for anyone who wants to engage in their health care on their terms. Video visits do not replace in-person or telephone visits, they are simply another way to meet with your healthcare provider. Joining a video visit is easy by using a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera, speaker, and a strong internet connection.

If a patient doesn’t have access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer, they can still schedule an in-person or telephone appointment by calling the 88th Medical Group appointment line at 937-522-APPT [2778]. Video visits are also scheduled through the appointment line.
Care Companion
Automated care programs deliver better health outcomes, and a greater patient experience. Care Companion improves the patient experience by:
- Putting patients at the center of the care delivery system
- Offering patients relevant, timely, and meaningful information about their health conditions
- Providing secure, personalized chats allowing patients to better manage and monitor health conditions between medical appointments
- Allowing patients to receive the right care at the right time to support their goals through the chats
- Providing programs designed by health care experts
- Allowing patients to access Care Companion from a browser on any internet-enabled computer or mobile device – no need to download an app!
Joining an automated chat is easy. Once a patient is enrolled, they’ll receive a chat notification via email. They’ll simply click the link in the notification to start their secure, personalized chat.
