The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue to work in normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

During this partial government shutdown, the 88th Medical Group remains open and continues to honor scheduled medical and dental appointments. Our appointment line is open and we are still taking requests for appointments. Our operating room, primary care and specialty care clinics are fully operational. Ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) are also operating normally. As always, safe and high-quality health care remain our priority and we are doing our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries and their health care during this partial government shutdown. Please call (937) 522-APPT to schedule or cancel appointments. For questions about TRICARE during the shutdown, please visit tricare.mil/shutdown

Health Services

Endocrinology

We provide comprehensive adult care for patients over the age of 18. This includes disorders of the pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, and pancreas glands. Thyroid nodule fine needle aspiration biopsy is completed in our treatment room. We accept for long term care patients with type 1 diabetes and rare forms of diabetes, to include those utilizing insulin pumps. Patients with diabetes who have an A1C (a percentage of hemoglobin) persistently greater than 9% are also seen. The Diabetes Education Clinic is co-located with the Endocrinology Clinic, improving our ability to treat and monitor lifestyle modifications and manage diabetic patients. An active referral from primary care is needed for an appointment.
