The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue to work in normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

During this partial government shutdown, the 88th Medical Group remains open and continues to honor scheduled medical and dental appointments. Our appointment line is open and we are still taking requests for appointments. Our operating room, primary care and specialty care clinics are fully operational. Ancillary services (pharmacy, laboratory, radiology) are also operating normally. As always, safe and high-quality health care remain our priority and we are doing our best to minimize impact on our beneficiaries and their health care during this partial government shutdown. Please call (937) 522-APPT to schedule or cancel appointments. For questions about TRICARE during the shutdown, please visit tricare.mil/shutdown

Health Services

Dermatology / Infectious Disease / Travel

We perform annual skin exams for skin cancer prevention as well as exams for any type of skin condition or concern. We treat conditions such as acne, psoriasis, melanoma, dermatitis, and eczema. We offer procedure appointments to remove or biopsy as needed. We also offer some cosmetic procedures, but a cost may be associated. The Infectious Disease Clinic evaluates and manages the entire spectrum of infectious diseases including bacterial, viral, fungal, rickettsia, mycobacterial, and parasitic infections as well as events related to bioterrorism. Our service optimizes antibiotic regimens for complex inpatient and chronic outpatient infections that include osteomyelitis. Additionally, we provide pre-travel advice and post-travel evaluations for travel related or tropical diseases. Patients may self-refer to be seen in our Travel Clinic, otherwise new patients must be scheduled through the hospital Referral Management Office. All active duty personnel who are deploying, moving or going on temporary duty must be seen in the Public Health Clinic.
