Laboratory
We collect blood and other bodily fluids for testing purposes. Glucose tolerance tests and semen analysis are offered by appointment.
Lab Appointments
- It is highly recommended that you schedule an appointment, walk-ins can expect an extended wait time.
- Appointments can no longer be scheduled via the appt line.

- Patients will be able to schedule appts and receive text and e-mail appointment reminders.
- Patient Instructions, such as special collection, timing, etc. will be available.
- After May 15, 2026, patients can no longer fax orders to the lab; they must bring them in-person. If the orders are free of errors, labs will be drawn same-day. If the orders contain errors or missing information, it is the responsibility of the patient to seek corrections.
- Lab results will be available in the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal after the appointment.
Lab Orders from Off-Base Providers
There are a number of requirements that must be met when bringing lab orders from off-base providers. Make sure the following information is included:
- Date of the request (this refers to the date the requisition was written). Orders are only good for one year from the date written. Once orders are placed in MHS GENESIS, patient will have 60 days to complete the order before expiration.
- Patient full name
- Patient birth date
- Ordering provider full name
- Ordering provider unique 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ordering provider wet signature or electronic signature with date and time stamp
- Ordering provider phone number and fax number
- All diagnosis codes in ICD-10 format
- Standing orders must state that they are a standing order and must include the number of occurrences and frequency of occurrences.
- All tests requested requirement:
1) Avoid acronyms or commercial test names/panels
2) A copy of patients Consent for Testing Form for Genetic Testing (if applicable)
Other information regarding outside order drop-offs:
- All test kits or collection containers must be provided to the patient by Wright-Patterson Medical Center Laboratory. Order must be dropped off before sample is dropped off to WPMC second floor lab.
- If patient wants results sent to a provider other than the ordering provider, you must contact release of information. Lab is not authorized to release results to other clinics or patients.
- Results for testing can take up to 10 business days to be faxed to ordering office.
- The lab requires a 7-business day wait for all order investigation to be completed; you will be called if order is not orderable in MHS GENESIS.
- When dropping orders off, patients must have military ID card for registration purposes.
