Getting Care

Improving the Patient Experience

The Defense Health Agency is making care more focused on you as a person. You now have faster, easier, and more convenient access from your phone, tablet, or laptop to online tools and services to help meet your health care needs.

You have access to a range of digital care solutions, including:

  • Self-paced, private online health programs to help support your overall well-being.
  • Digital companions, so you can stay connected to your health care team between visits.
  • Ability to schedule virtual appointments, get appointment reminders, and access virtual waiting rooms.
  • Ability to search online for network primary and specialty care providers.

Scheduled Virtual Visits

This video visit platform is safe, secure, and easy to use, making it the perfect option for anyone who wants to engage in their health care on their terms. Video visits do not replace in-person or telephone visits, they are simply another way to meet with your healthcare provider. Joining a video visit is easy by using a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera, speaker, and a strong internet connection.

Ambient Listening

Ambient listening is a secure voice-recognition tool that helps providers create clinical notes during medical appointments. The technology works in the background, capturing conversations between patients and providers, converting them into text, and organizing key medical details into draft clinical notes. Providers review and finalize the notes before adding them to the patient’s record, which patients can later view in the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal.

The goal is to improve both the patient experience and provider efficiency.
